Charlie's Restaurant has been a mainstay in downtown Puyallup for many years and the building has been part of the downtown landscape since the turn of the twentieth century. For many years the building was home to the Pihl Bros. Flour Company and the Valley Feed Company among other commercial uses, before transitioning to restaurant space in the mid-nineteen hundreds.
Charlie's Restaurant has been in business since 1972, and has always provided affordable family dining in a comfortable home town environment.
The current owners of Charlie's, Janice Carter and Teresa Suprak understand that Charlie's is an icon in Puyallup and that having an inviting home town restaurant is important to the Puyallup community.
Janice and Teresa have invested in significant revitalization of the interior of the building including accessibility, energy efficiency and public safety upgrades, as well as the expansion of meeting/banquet space. They completed an extensive revitalization in 2010, while ensuring that the stayed true to the historic nature of the building.
The freshly remodeled interior boasts 12 foot ceilings, new rest rooms, reconfigured lounge and restaurant areas, and expanded banquet facilities which can serve from 14-120 people.
New amenities include improved handicap accessibility, featuring remodeled and rearranged parking, rest rooms, and entrances. In addition, energy efficient mechanical systems have improved the environmental friendliness of the restaurant. Energy efficient heating and cooling systems, insulation and water heating systems have been installed.
